Please Note: This is not for current SEEDS or ED physicians
It’s an information day for sonographers new to the concept of SEEDs.
Growing a S.E.E.D: the Sonographer Educator in the Emergency Department
No potting mix is necessary though curiosity and passion for ultrasound teaching and thinking outside the box is a must. This day will transport you from performing a comprehensive ultrasound examination in the Medical Imaging Department to the fast-moving world of ultrasound in the Emergency Department (ED) - where scanning is tailored to the needs of the clinician and the clinical context on the fly.
Find out about:
Discover what ED clinicians need, why and how it makes a difference to patient care and management; and wrap up the day with an exciting simulation.
Is being a SEED something you are interested in? Or perhaps you have been asked to help in the ED? Come and find out!
This first trimester masterclass will deep dive into the ever evolving role of the 11-14 week ultrasound. With updates in NIPT, the role of NT scanning, anomaly scanning and genetics. This session will incorporate some of Australia’s top obstetric specialists along with genetic and sonographer experts delivering a mix of didactic lectures, live scanning and small group workshops for the optimal learning outcome for you and those who entrust you with their care.
Endometriosis affects approximately 1 in 9 female-born people and has historically only been diagnosed through invasive laparoscopic surgery after a diagnostic delay of approximately 6.5 years. By the time of diagnosis, many people with endometriosis will report undergoing one (or several) ultrasounds which failed to deliver an outcome or detect their disease.
In 2022, people with endometriosis deserve better than this with a timelier and less invasive diagnosis. A comprehensive transvaginal ultrasound can detect deep endometriosis (and in some cases superficial endometriosis too) and is highly valuable in diagnosing the condition, assessing fertility, surgical planning and reducing diagnostic delay.
This deep dive day is a must attend for anyone performing or reporting gynaecological ultrasound or clinicians caring for people with endometriosis. Everything you need to know about diagnosing endometriosis with ultrasound will be covered including live scan demonstrations.
Conquer your nerves! Does this aspect of MSK ultrasound make you nervous?
Join the MSK deep dive to give you courage and a better understanding of nerves, along with practical approaches to confidently perform an ultrasound exam. The day will include a combination of didactic lectures, live scanning and workshops. It will be beneficial to healthcare professionals involved in diagnostic imaging or intervention of the musculoskeletal and peripheral nervous system using ultrasound.
